Racial Equity is a process of eliminating racial disparities
and improving outcomes for everyone.
race is not intrinsic to human beings but rather an identity
created, often by socially dominant groups, to establish
meaning in a social context.
In international law, “racial discrimination” is understood
as “any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference
based on race
based on colour (Black colour, White colour)
based on descent (Dalits, BCs, OBCs)
national or ethnic origin (African, West Indian, Indigenous
people)
effects nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment
or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental
freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or
any other field of public life”.
SC,
Dalits are included in Racial Equity because humans should
be recognised as humans.
Not by their colour or country (developed, developing, underdeveloped)
or by their caste (which they dont decide when they are
born)
