When one of the Skill in Village (SiV) teachers reached one girl's school as part of the mobilization, the introduction to the program piqued her interest. “I felt this would be a great learning opportunity, and even my teachers encouraged me to join the program”, she said. Consequently, she convinced her parents to let her join the program. She had been yearning to enhance her verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and the program came in at the right time to assist her in her aspirations.
The Skill in Village team encouraged her to join the Indian School of Leadership (ISL) camp, an ecosystem that identifies capable young people from diverse backgrounds and equips them with the skills and network to develop into value-driven leaders who can solve complex problems in their communities. She had to go through multiple interviews to get selected for the camp. She aspires to be a doctor and help the people of her village. But one thing she wishes to start immediately is to inspire more children in her community, through her story.

FLITE focuses not just on the children at home, but rather sees the whole family as a learning unit, who have much to learn from both their shared and unique experiences, who have many common problems to face, and who are ultimately linked together with a strong influence on each other. FLITE facilitators use telephone sessions as a simple way to connect with families, who may be far away, and help them collectively discover their interests and develop a learning journey together, to achieve self-designed goals.

Online market to poor artisans
sabkasaman.com is an initiative by UPAY NGO(उपाय) to provide an online market to poor artisans and footpath hawkers. Through sabkasaman women from slums and villages are getting trained and getting online market for their products.

UPAY has started skill development centres to enhance the skills of poor womenfolks. At present UPAY is giving sewing training to poor women and also engaged unemployed youth in skill development.

Samarth – Skill Development Centres
Samarth is a skill development initiative for women, especially mothers of our students and young women, with a motive to empower them through skill-based employability opportunities. The initiative was launched in the year 2016 to free families to break the shackles of poverty and provide dignity of labour. A six-month training course makes the beneficiaries industry-ready followed by order-based work allocation. The Samarth centres are currently running in Nagpur, Delhi-NCR, Gadarwara and Bengaluru.
