this programme, we develop entrepreneurs among rural
people through advanced training in art & craft
practices. Especially, painting such as traditional
Tanjore painting.
Tanjore
painting is an exquisite traditional art form and
has a vibrant heritage. It is deeply rooted in tradition
and still innovative within limits. Importantly
this art is continued to be practiced in the present
days; we provide these skills to protect our cultural
heritage.
The
primary objective of this project is to support
and improve the existing organizational infrastructure
that serves to enhance the livelihoods of rural
Indians in a socially and economically sustainable
manner.

“ Livelihoods Improvement through Woodcarving ”
Wood carving classes gives hands-on training in
areas such as using wood carving tools and woodworking
safety. Such knowledge would be particularly beneficial
to aspiring wooden boat detailers, wood carving
artists, exceptional furniture designers and also
custom wood cabinet makers. We impart training in
traditional wood carving to the rural unemployed
youth. It helps to improve their capacity building
and creation of Master crafts persons. This vocational
skill begins from the basic level and is open to
all, irrespective of any prior experience in carving.
At Elysium Foundation, we allow you to learn and
explore the art of wood carving.

Online market to poor artisans
sabkasaman.com is an initiative by UPAY NGO(उपाय)
to provide an online market to poor artisans and
footpath hawkers. Through sabkasaman women from
slums and villages are getting trained and getting
online market for their products. UPAY
has started skill development centres to enhance
the skills of poor womenfolks. At present UPAY is
giving sewing training to poor women and also engaged
unemployed youth in skill development.
