We
have started sharing names of philanthropists who have taken Giving
Pledge started by Bill Gates, Melinda French Gates and Warren Buffet
as well as philanthropists who got Medal of Philanthropy and plan to
start more stakeholders recognised by well known organisations.
The Giving Pledge
is a movement of philanthropists who commit to give the majority of
their wealth to charitable causes, either during their lifetimes or
in their wills.
The last part is "in their wills" and we think it is important
because you must have a WILL to donate and there is a WILL that you
need to register with Government Authorities in your country about what
you will donate.
The
Giving Pledge is a simple concept : an open invitation for billionaires,
or those who would be if not for their giving, to publicly commit to
give the majority of their wealth to philanthropy either during their
lifetimes or in their wills
#LivingMyPromise
is an effort to help address society’s most pressing problems by inviting
India’s well-to-do individuals and families to commit to giving equal
to or more than half of their wealth to philanthropy or charitable causes
either during their lifetime or in their will.
Now how far WILL
is protected by law is important because people go to court against
their father who did 2 WILLs and registered it in related government
authority
It is important that they have a WILL to
donate.
In India we have seen WILL can be challenged. |
