Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA)

Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA) is an autonomous, non- governmental, non-profit making organization as well as representative body under which all Nepalese Pashmina entrepreneurs such as manufacturers, exporters, raw materials importers and dyers are brought together to strengthen themselves for sustainable development of entire Nepalese Pashmina sector. It was established in the year 2000 (2056 BS) and has been actively representing in different governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Objectives
NPIA's main objectives are as follows:
  • Unite all pashmina industries/sectors under one umbrella.
  • Encourage and assist people residing in high hills for chyangra (capra hircus) farming for the production of top quality Pashmina.
  • Protect the rights and privileges of Nepalese Pashmina sector.
  • Coordinate organized efforts for the betterment of Pashmina sector.
  • Facilitate sourcing of raw materials and promoting national as well as international markets for pashmina products.
  • Develop links between industrial, commercial, governmental and non-governmental organizations for the overall development of pashmina business
  • Lobby to the government to formulate policies and programs related to Pashmina sector.
  • Ensure quality of pashmina by providing pashmina trademark.
