Myanmar Industries Association

Background

There is a broad consensus in Myanmar that the accelerated development of industries is crucial to becoming an industrialized modern nation. With a view to endeavoring for the development of processing and manufacturing sector, Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar enacted the Private Industrial Law in 1990 and Promotion of Cottage Industries Law in 1991. Myanmar Industries Association (MIA) was formed under the Myanmar Company Act on 27th April 1993 to promote activities efficiently and effectively with the support of the Government and private agencies. It is self-funded, non-profit making organization and as such, it is truly private independent body representing the entire scope of trade, services and industries in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Organization Mission

To promote, represent and safeguard the interests of the Myanmar Industries and Business Community.
Objectives

The main objectives of Myanmar Industries Association are;
Creating more employment opportunities by promoting new industries.
Improvement of productivity of private industries, simultaneously enhancing industrial standards and quality of products.
Acceleration of the development of manufacturing and service industries in correspondence with market-oriented economic system.
Effective exploitation of natural resources by acquiring appropriate modern technology through research, innovation and transfer of technology.
Promotion and expansion of industrial exports.
Encourage energy conservation and utilization of new energy resources.
Assist the private industrial enterprises in solving their problems on a self-help basis.
Assist in establishing industrial zone with a view to provide necessary infrastructures and facilities for private sector investment.
Promote and nurture SMIs to become suppliers of MNC and Large companies.

Government trade policies, directives, import-export procedures, tax structure, tariff rates, procedures and incentives for investment in the manufacturing sector.
Infrastructure and other facilities such as availability of industrial land, electricity and utilities.
Current status of industries and opportunities in different sectors.
Marketing aspects and facilitation of projects.
Disseminate foreign trade information through MIA Newsletters and Trade Enquiry Bulletins.

Malaysian Business Council of Myanmar

OUR OBJECTIVE
We are a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit association formed with the objective of enhancing and facilitating Malaysian businesses in Myanmar and the surrounding regions.

MMBC HISTORY

MMBC was established in July 2011 and function under the auspices of Malaysian Embassy of Myanmar. MMBC was officially endorsed and supported by Malaysian External Trade Development (MATRADE) and UMFCCI.

It is governed by a duly elected Board of Directors (BOD) with the Malaysian Ambassador to Myanmar as the Patron.

OUR FUNCTIONS

To cooperate and support the authorities of both Malaysia and Myanmar to develop mutually beneficial trade, industry, investment and economic activity
To provide advice, ideas and suggestions without prejudice to Malaysian business interests in Myanmar in the fields of trade, investment and in other related matters
To compile and disseminate to its best knowledge, news, information and statistics on trade in general, industrial updates and legal and financial development worthy of interest for distribution to its members at large.
To assist and promote activities that are benevolent to society

Malaysian Association of Myanmar (MAM)

Malaysian Association of Myanmar (MAM) is a non-government, non-political and non-profit organization formed with the objectives of bringing together all the Malaysians residing in Myanmar through educational, social and economic activities in an effort to keep high cohesion among the Malaysians at a foreign land. MAM has been actively organizing the activities such as donations to orphanage, old folk house, gathering for family day, festivals, sports, receiving theeducational, business and ministerial delegations, and arranging forthe seminars and forums. MAM has received well recognition not onlyfrom its members for the efforts of bringing together the Malaysiansin Myanmar but also from the local community for the contributions onhumanity and promoting Malaysia-Myanmar relationship.
