Protection of wear resistance behaviour of enamel against electron beam irradiation
Introduction - Irradiation is known to cause oxidation process among the tissue-altering the properties of teeth leading to tissue necrosis and caries formation. Hence protection of the oral cavity is a major concern to deal with therapy side effects.
Aim - Evaluation of wear resistance property of Enamel against electron beam radiation and analysing the radio protective effects of natural organic compounds.

Molecular markers relevant to myocardial injury following dental extraction in patients with and without coronary artery disease
Objectives - The aim of this study was to characterize biological changes following dental extractions in patients with and without coronary artery disease (CAD).
Materials and methods - Forty-five patients (36 males and 9 females) referred for dental extraction underwent treatment and provided blood samples before, immediately after, and 24?h after the procedure. A broad array of biomarkers was employed to assess myocardial injury (highly sensitive troponin T, hs-TnT), bacterial burden (LPS endotoxin activity), and systemic inflammation (CRP, fibrinogen, IFN-?, IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12, and TNF-a).

New antibacterial fillings may combat recurring tooth decay
Novel material may prevent one of the costliest and most prevalent bacterial diseases in the world
Tooth decay is among the costliest and most widespread bacterial diseases. Virulent bacteria cause the acidification of tooth enamel and dentin, which, in turn, causes secondary tooth decay.
