Solomon Islands Flag Description
The flag of the Solomon Islands was officially adopted on November 18, 1977.

The five white stars represent the five main island groups. Blue is said to represent the surrounding ocean; green represents the land, and the yellow stripe is symbolic of sunshine.

The Solomon Islands, a nation of hundreds of islands in the South Pacific, is known for its scuba diving and WWII-era relics. Among its acclaimed diving destinations are enormous Marovo Lagoon and Iron Bottom Sound, which is littered with dozens of sunken warships. Guadalcanal, a province and one of the archipelago’s largest islands, honors fallen Allied soldiers at its U.S. War Memorial.
