Abhinav

Construction and Supervision
From construction for the community to the supervision of construction activities meant for social welfare, Abhinav stands unmatched.

In Muzaffarnagar, the work of implementing centrally sponsored scheme (ILCS) for urban sanitation has been assigned to ABHINAV for not only construction of low cost sanitation units through sanitary two pit pour flush latrines with superstructures and appropriate variations to suit local conditions in EWS household but also eradicate the concept of open defecation and manual scavengers.

Abhinav has simplified designs and standardized the parts, resulting in household costs about fifty per cent lower than those in similar government-financed schemes.

We have constructed world class public toilets in different areas of Muzaffarnagar district. These toilets are for public use on pay & use basis. We named this initiative as “Flush n Pride

Abhinav has supervised the construction under rural drinking water and sanitation programme based on community participation. The programme has benefitted villages with more than 25,000 populations. The organization has monitored the construction to ensure proper maintenance of quality. Besides this, the organization has performed testing of materials for construction including PVC pipes, bricks, steel, cement etc. The organization meticulously supervises the construction under rural drinking water and sanitation programme with the help of its expert engineers. Our activities involve construction of tube well, OHT, laying and jointing PVC pipes for water supply.

The organization has ensured that the technology option available is acceptable, adaptable and affordable for the community. The organization assessed various factors such as technical feasibility, and requirements combined with willingness to contribute towards capital cost to help the authorities in selection of appropriate water supply technology.

Abhinav has the philosophy of being the facilitator rather than a leader. The organization has facilitated electric supply for the water tank from the VWSC itself rather than seeking help electricity department. The technical work undertaken by VWSC is a milestone in itself.

Cairn India

Infrastructure
We run a number of social development projects for addressing needs of local communities around our exploration, development and production sites. To this end, we work closely with district authorities and communities on local infrastructure improvement projects providing much needed roads, housing & toilets, water tanks, community halls, school building renovations, and playgrounds.

Our efforts stem from a recognition of the role infrastructure plays in the development agenda and as a contributor to economic growth for rural communities.

RAJASTHAN: BARMER AND JALORE
Barmer district has the unenviable distinction of being the most economically laggard district in the state of Rajasthan. The total population of the district is about 20 lakhs with a literacy rate of 59%. Almost 67% of the population is unemployed.

Cairn is the largest corporate operational in the area with maximum investments both in terms of its business operations as well as in terms of its commitment to the society.

The communities in the area live in Dhanis (small clusters), which are near their farmlands and thus separated from each other by vast distances. Nature is harsh to these people with scant rainfall, desert and hilly terrains with very limited availability of water. These problems are compounded by lack of roads, transportation facilities, electricity and communication modes as well as a general lack of education/awareness.

The State government faces a huge challenge in linking Dhanis with the road, electricity and health care facilities. Access to health care and education is a major challenge as people need to travel long distances on their feet in a hostile climatic conditions.

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.

RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENT
Absence of quality infrastructure like roads, drinking water, irrigation system, sewage treatment, power supplies etc. severely limits, development and prosperity of an Indian village. Chambal has taken a few, important steps in this regard. The initiatives include building roads and culverts, classrooms, toilets and boundary walls in schools; digging of bore wells and hand pumps; providing overhead water storage tanks; and constructing water harvesting structures to improve ground water level.

Construction of Village Roads
Chambal in participation with Gram Panchayats has facilitated construction of Concrete-Cement Roads and Stone Pavement (kharanja) roads. Around 10 villages near our plants in Kota district of Rajasthan have benefited by this scheme, in which Gram Panchayats also make monetary contribution.
