Brief About Gandhinagar District
Gandhinagar city is a head center of the Gandhinagar district capital of Gujarat state. There are four Talukas (sub districts) under the capital namely: Maansa, Kalol, Dehgaam and Gandhinagar. Capital contains all departments’ head offices, secretariats of all departments, ministers’ offices, ministers’ residences, legislature house, residence of Governor, office of Governor, all important offices and building. Residencies of government officials and private residents are situated in the city. They are divided in 30 sectors. People from all casts and creeds are residing in the capital.

There are tourist spots like world famous Akshardham temple complex, Haranodyan garden, sports complex, gardens at sector 28 etc.

Gandhinagar has four sub districts:


Gandhinagar District is an administrative division of Gujarat, India,
whose headquarters are at Gandhinagar,
the state capital.
It has an area of 649 km²,
and a population of 1,334,731 (1991 census).
The district includes four taluks and 216 villages.
Gandhinagar district is bounded by the districts of Sabarkantha to the northeast, Kheda to the southeast, Gandhinagar to the southwest, and Mehsana to the northwest. Connected to Gandhinagar by the Sartej-Gandhinagar highway, and with Vadodara with the Gandhinagar-Vadodara highway, these three cities form the top population centers and commercial heart of Gujarat and western India.
