About Tanzania
Country in Africa

Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar and Mafia Marine Park, where whale sharks swim through reefs.

Tanzania Flag Description
The flag of Tanzania consists of five diagonal stripes. The top stripe is green, the bottom is an equal-sized blue stripe, and the middle stripe is black with a thin yellow stripe above and below it.

The flag of Tanzania was officially adopted in 1964.
The green and black, representing the land and people of Tanzania, were taken from the original Tanganyikan flag. The blue, symbolizing the sea, was borrowed from the Zanzibar flag.
